Grace In Gravity

One of the funnies things that happen in our industry is over expectation and its co-sister, mind reading. We all run around with ill formed expectations only to be disappointed by the end of the day. What am I talking about?

Here is the story I saw happen.

We were practicing for a gig and in the same room we had another neighborhood band which also was sharing some floor time.

The chief promoter walked in and handed down a sheet of what looked like musical notes to a guy named Bud

But then Bud was a Dud when it came to reading the sheet. So he just took that sheet and wrote down the scores on the black board ad forgot all about it. You see Bud was a good drummer but he had learnt it all by observing other drummer, literally with out any kind of formal / informal training in drumming. So obviously giving a music sheet to some one who cant read it is like asking me to read Russian, I would start searching for a mirror thinking it is reversed writing.
